Will pin size scratches affect my nikkor Zoom 80-200mm f/4.0s?

Will pin size scratches affect my nikkor Zoom 80-200mm f/4.0s?They are almost like dust specs.Will they affect the pictures I take in any way?Will it be noticeable?

I am afraid to ask … do you have a UV or skylight filter on the lens to protect the front element of the lens?

If the scratches are on the actual lens element, not only will the lens show a lot of flare, but imperfections in the images as well. The only way to repair this is to have the lens repaired .. and it may cost more than the lens is worth.

Is this a lens you are considering to purchase? Do some test shots with the lens facing toward a light source and see if the flaring is objectionable to your standards.

If you are going to buy the lens, then you should discount the asking price to cover any costs you may have repairing it
