What is APS-C Frame?

What is Full Frame?

Diffierent between APS-C Frame and Full Size Frame?

Twenties of the nineteenth century, after Germany production developed the 35mm (36mm × 24mm) Leica film camera for film using, the 35-mm film is also called the “Leica volume”, then the world’s production made more and more cameras for the 35-mm film shooting, The name “Leica volume” has been unable to adapt, so changed to “35-mm film” according to the width of the film. Until the fifties, in order to distinguish between 35-mm film and 35mm film in bulk for camera use, the code “135″ has printed in the film cartridge. Later the 135 film recognized as the 35mm film, the camera used 135 film called the 135 camera.

1996, jointly by top five companies: Fuji Photo Film, Kodak, Canon, Minolta and Nikon developed APS (Advance Photo System) film system. APS developer made a radically improved on the basis of the 135 original specifications, bring full of innovation to the camera, photosensitive materials, printing equipment and related accessory products, and significantly reduce the size of the film, used the new design — intelligent cassette, integrated the contemporary digital technology. the film become the intelligent film able to record optical information, digital information.

APS positioning to the amateur consumer market, a total of three film frame designed (H, C, P):

APS-H (HD)-type:

 frame size 30.3 × 16.6mm, for the 16:9 aspect ratio;

APS-C (classic) type:

cut each end of the left and right end in the APS-H frame, for the 3:2 aspect ratio frame size 24.9 × 16.6mm, the same ratio with 135 films;

APS-P (Panorama) type:

cut one row both the top and bottom side of the APS-H frame, make the aspect ratio 3:1, frame size 30.3 × 10.1mm, aspect ratio 11:4.

APS three frame sizes

Based the cost considerations of the production and development, most of digital cameras use APS-C frame CCD / CMOS image sensor which is less than the 135 film specification, only high-level SLR digital cameras (DSLR) use the sensor have a same size to 135 film. In order to distinction facilitately, the industry man defined the 135 film size as full-frame size, so there were the diffierent between a full-frame and APS frame.

What lenses are compatible with the Panasonic Lumix G1?

I know they have the Lumix G Vario 14-45mm 3.5-5.6 and the 45-200mm 4.0-5.6 lenses but does anyone know if they have a basic 50mm 1.8 lens available yet? Or will I have to get the micro four thirds adapter and just buy a Zuiko or Sigma lens?

The 14-45mm and 45-200mm are the only two native G1/µ4:3 lenses available at this moment. The 14-140 is set to launch next month, along side the GH1… the G1’s video-recording capable sibling. The 20mm (equiv. to 40mm) 1.7 is expected out later this year.

This page contains a compatibility list for 4:3 lenses:

There are also a number of mount adapters for 4:3 and µ4:3. Including Nikon F and Canon FD. These are strictly mechanical, which means no autofocus and you must use the aperture ring on the lens (provided it has one). And keep in mind that the G1 has a 2x crop factor.

What are the basics I need to know about digital cameras?

I know less than nothing, about digital cameras. Where can I go to learn? or is it easier than I think it is?
I bought 2 cameras, one cheap 2.1 Megapixel DG “for Dummies” (I don’t even see a maker’s name, but it looks easy to operate (maybe).
I also bought a FinePix 4800 Zoom Fuji camera that looks very professional but I doubt I can even make it through the owner’s manual. It’s the kind that sits in a power dock and has tons of settings.
Help! Where do I start?
Ok, so I’ve been reading and studying. I really have a fairly high IQ but I’ve thrown this Owner’s manual across the room several times now.
Wish I could give you all the 10 pts, but I thank you for trying to help me.
I’m close to giving this camera away and
THWit.

You are going to have to READ & STUDY the Owner’s Manual for your Fujifilm FinePix 4800. There really isn’t any other way to learn how to use the camera unless you can take a class in photography. You’ll still need to READ & STUDY the Owner’s Manual though.

If there are terms you don’t understand, go to http:www.dpreview.com and look at the Menu on the left side of their home page. Click on Learn/Glossary and you’ll find as explanation of all the terms associated with digital cameras.

lens to canon

I would like to start shadowing a local wedding photographer. What lens would be best to use with a Canon XTi?

Currently, I have three lenses: Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM AF Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto Lens, Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 and Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM Telephoto Lens. What am I missing? Also, which of these would be best to use in a church that is very dimly lit?

Your missing the part where you ask the pros permission and then have them tell you which lens to use.

The wedding photographers I know that shoot with Canon’s use 50mm f/1.4 for portraits and a 17-55mm f/2.8 for the rest, group to candid.
